SPRING CONCERT

Saturday 28 March 2009: 7:30pm

Church of St Michael & All Angels Bath Road Chiswick W4 1TR

Programme to be announced.

Welcome to the home page of the Hogarth Singers. We are a small friendly choir usually performing at St Michael and All Angels, Bedford Park, Chiswick in West London and (in the summer) at St Peter’s, Black Lion Lane, Hammersmith. Under our musical director David Bray we present a range of choral music accompanied by Andrew Wells on the piano, or organ. At many of our concerts we perform with orchestral players or ensembles.

Our choir was formed about 20 years ago and has built an enthusiastic group of both members and followers over the years.   In 2005 we decided to change our name from the Meistersingers to Hogarth Singers to reflect, more accurately, the type of music we sing.  We sing a broad range of music, from plainsong to contemporary, performing four or five concerts per year, with about 50 - 60 members at the moment and always welcome new singers.

At rehearsal

Keen singers are invited to come along to join in one of our rehearsals and to take a simple voice test. Previous choral experience would be helpful, but what is needed most of all is that you are keen to learn and enjoy making music with others. While the choir is based in Chiswick, our members come from many parts of London, helped by the fact that our current main rehearsal venue, the Arts Educational Schools, is conveniently situated just a stone’s throw from Turnham Green Underground station.

This site is our public notice board and newsletter – we hope that you enjoy it and  to see you at our concerts. We are planning to post plenty of information about the choir, its activities past and present, and our local links, on other web pages as we develop them.
